mycena tintinnabulum

This bronze sculpture captures a tight cluster of slender-stemmed mycena tintinnabulum mushrooms rising from a knotted basal mass, their long, sinuous stems fusing into a thicket that supports overlapping, flat caps with deeply textured gills. The surface blends smooth metallic sheen with granular roughness on edges and undersides, enhanced by blue-green patina in recesses that evokes moist, decaying wood and forest age. Viewed from below, the piece creates an upward gaze into layered shadows, transforming fragile woodland ephemera into a slender, enduring metallic statue.
