This bronze statue vividly immortalizes a delicate cluster of Mycena mushrooms, showcasing three slender, bell-shaped caps emerging from fragile, thread-like stems rooted in a rugged, bark-textured base that captures the essence of decaying beech wood. The patina reveals intricate details such as the translucent edges of the caps, subtle striations along the stems, and natural imperfections like tiny cracks and organic irregularities, evoking the mushrooms' ephemeral fragility in their native habitat. Discovered in December 2025 within a beech forest in Lower Saxony, the sculpture highlights the species' resilience during the cold, damp winter months amid leaf litter and moss. The composition rises dynamically from the earthy base, with the caps tilting gracefully outward, set upon an unpolished bronze plinth that grounds the piece in naturalistic elegance.
